Honors students from any North Carolina college/university, Honors program directors and faculty/staff.
I am interested in presenting at the conference. What is the deadline to submit a proposal?
Submission deadline is Friday, September 8th at 11:59 pm. Proposals may be submitted after that date, but will only be considered if space is available.
What formats are allowed for presentation?
Posters and oral presentations are allowed.
Once submitted, when will decisions be made?
You will receive a decision on or before September 15th, 2017.
What is the cost to register for the conference?
NCHA Member (Early Registration Fee) – Student: $50.00 Faculty/Staff: $60.00
NCHA Member (Late/On-Site Registration Fee) - Student: $60.00 Faculty/Staff: $70.00
NCHA Non-Member (Early Registration Fee) – Student: $75.00 Faculty/Staff: $85.00
NCHA Non-Member (Late/On-Site Registration Fee) - Student: $85.00 Faculty/Staff: $95.00

What is included in the cost of my registration?
Your conference registration includes full access to all sessions and events. You are responsible for all related expenses such as air travel, ground transportation, and lodging.
Can I pay to attend only one day or part of the conference?
There is one registration fee for Friday and Saturday of the conference. We are not able to offer a partial registration option.
I need to cancel my registration, what should I do?
If you need to cancel your registration, please contact Shannon Zurell-Carey at [email protected].
Do I have to pre-register for the sessions I want to attend?
No. There is one registration fee for all conference sessions and activities. Early registration ends on Friday, September 8th.
Where will the sessions be held?
Conference events will be split between UNC Charlotte’s main campus (Saturday) and UNC Charlotte’s Center City building located in uptown Charlotte (Friday).
Is free Wi-Fi provided?
NinerWiFi-Guest provides wireless access for guests of UNC Charlotte. To connect to NinerWiFi-Guest, follow these steps: 1) Select the NinerWiFi-Guest network to connect to. 2) Open a browser and enter a URL; this should take you to the log in page. 3) Click on Guest.
Will I have access to computer equipment for my presentation?
All presentation rooms come equipped with a projector and screen. Please be sure to bring your laptop and adaptor to connect to the projector.
Can you recommend hotels to stay at during the conference?
The Courtyard Charlotte University Research Park will offer lodging for NCHA 2017 for a rate of $89/night. All reservations must be made by 9/1. See the conference website for more details: http://nchaconference.weebly.com/
I am not driving, will I need to get a rental car?
Probably. Conference events will be split between UNC Charlotte’s main campus and UNC Charlotte’s Center City building located in uptown Charlotte. Taxi, public bus, and Uber or Lyft are available.
Where and what time does on-site registration take place?
On-site registration will occur on Friday from 12:30-1:15 pm, at the UNC Charlotte’s Center City Building, and on Saturday from 7:30-8:45 am, at UNC Charlotte, in the Student Union.
Are there any meals provided during the conference?
On Friday, afternoon snacks and dinner will be provided. (Please indicate on the registration form whether or not you will attend the banquet on Friday night.) On Saturday, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
I have special needs (dietary, mobility, etc.) How can I inform you of them?
If you require special accommodations or have dietary restrictions, please indicate this on the registration form under the designated column.
Do I need to register for City As Text ™?
On the conference registration form, there is a space to indicate whether or not you plan to attend City as Text ™.
Is parking available at the conference venues?
At UNC Charlotte's Center City Building attendees will be required to print a parking permit prior to the conference. Please read and follow the directions on the document attached below. At UNC Charlotte's main campus all parking will be available on the weekend.
